Alexander Poe

Alexander Poe, was originally known to the party simply as "The Bald Man" after he and Aaron met in Jarrowby following an attempted assassination/ambush of Aaron and Liesl. Aaron found a note on one of the would be assassins, that indicated a code of some sort in a local bar. Aaron gave the code a try and found himself in a secret room with Poe and a number of Poes associates. Aaron assumed the man was a local leader in the underside of Jarrowby and "talked a little shop" with the man, who seemed to be interested in Aaron. After a time Aaron asked if there was anything he could do for the man in exchange for information on Omil and his caravan. He was offered a job delivering a message of some sort to someone in Bulgercross named Grimsby, on a caravan heading up that way soon, and was told that Omil was on a caravan that was due to be "making an unexpected stop" near Bulgercross. At the time the party assumed this was some sort of alread planned hijacking or some thing like that, though now Aaron wonders if that was indeed the case. Poe also indicated that Omil was the man who ordered the assassination attempt, presumably to slow anyone who might be following him. At this point even Aaron knew Poe only as "the Bald Man."

After the party's battle with Omil and adventure at The Shores nothing was heard from Alexander Poe for some time, and in general the party didn't think about the man at all, assuming that they were likely done interacting with this apparent crime boss, certainly at least until they returtned to Garany. However after spending some time in Serriyam the group was quite surprised to find an associate of Poe waiting for them at the Swordsmans club. The man, Julian, delivered a note to Aaron from Poe, and offered his help in information gathering and the like. The letter, which first established Poe's name to the party, indicated that he had been somehow keeping an eye on the group, knowing even of their trip to and from the Shores, as well as correctly predicting their trip to Serriyam. The letter offered the group money, "non-exclusive" employment and a small brooch that is purported to help guard against scrying. The letter also indicated that Poe believed others were likely to be keeping an eye on the group and implied that these others bear some ill will toward the group. Most of the group accepted Mr. Poe's offer, which mostly seems to mean doing exactly what they would be doing but trying to keep Mr. Poe informed about what they've been up to, by way of Julian.

Though Aaron at least finds himself strangely interested in Poe, and perhaps even more oddly for Aaron, willing to trust the man, what exactly his intentions are, and how he knows so much about the group is unclear and is certainly a mystery the group plans to try to unravel!
