Once in Serriyam, the party struggles to find their way.

[edit] Collected journal entries

Liesl healed some refugees and gave some orphans candy.

Laucian talked shop with the Jared Torris, very young cleric from the temple of Enlil. Jared provided Laucian with a few magical items to aide in the party's protection.

The party agreed to tithe a couple hundred gold pieces to help the cleric smuggle some of the refugees to safety.

Beatrix was uncharismatic and went outside to wash some refugees.

Aaron took an afternoon nap, in hopes of venturing out after nightfall to challenge Bladelaw to a game of dice.

Solomon went to visit his family. His brother, Dunash, joined a gang. His grandfather had an awesome beard.

Hob-gobbing with the Serryic elite.

Liesl and Beatrix went to see the Captain of the Guard to try to get a sense of what sort of state they were in, as well as where they were likely to fall when Robert Thune showed up in a few weeks. Initially they were going to have to make an appointment but after some diplomatic maneuvering by Liesl they were able to see the captain immediately. After they returned, Aaron woke up from his nap and began to shine up his armor and look his best so that he and the girls could head out for a night on the town (and a little recon on Bladelaw.) After talking with Solomon, the group decided to set out for the (can't remember name right now), a high society type watering hole. The place was obviously pretty swanky, and the clientele quite upper class. The group stood out among all the finery in their armor, but Aaron soon worked his way into a group of people, dazzling at least one young woman with his tales of adventure. The girls spent most of their time at the bar feeling a bit out of place nursing the drams of whiskey that Aaron bought as they entered the bar. Aaron hasn't yet been able to find out too much yet about Bladelaw, no one he has talked to thus far knows him by face, but all know that he does sometimes come to this particular watering hole. Aaron is also in the process of learning as much as he can about the elite of the city, so as to better increase the chances of running into Bladelaw. Despite the lack of information thus far the night is yet young and Aaron hopes to find out more information before the night is over, as well as possibly spending some time with some lovely young ladies.

Aaron Monsanto continued to spend some time in The Peacock, a high class bar in the heart of the Noble District. He was introduced to a man (don't have my notes in front of me and don't remember his name) who was also wearing martial gear who handed Aaron a pamphlet for "The Swordsman Club." Which appears to be a way place to sell overpriced weapons and lessons to nobles. However the man seemed to think that Aaron might be interested in being hired for some sort of work and suggested that Aaron stop by the place if he was interested. Later it was revealed though some basic information gathering that the man worked for Bladelaw, and that Bladelaw was in fact in the Peacock that night, though no one Aaron talked to could point him out. The man Aaron talked to earlier seemed to get wind of the fact hat Aaron was interested in Bladelaw and started to keep an eye on him. Aaron noticed and waved as if he didn't realize what was going on, and then left with what were no doubt a very relieved Liesl and Beatrix. Upon meeting up with Solomon and Laucian Aaron related what he had learned, including the fact that the man he talked to had also indicated that the people he worked for (later revealed to be Bladelaw), were doing ok in the city as it was, but were looking forward to the arrival of "reinforcements." Aaron was unable to determine if these "reinforcements" were from Thune or Horace Ungerholt. Aaron suspects/hopes that they are anticipating the arrival of Thune, and thus might be easily persuaded to help with the resistance.

The party slept after an extremely long day.

The next morning, the party members returned to the headquarters of the Serryic Knights. They met again with Darius, who elaborated and clarified the plans for the up-coming siege. All information was provided to the party on a need-to-know basis, to ensure the safety of everyone involved. The party members agreed to continue to try to make contacts and garner support for the rebellion, possibly through the Swordsman's Club or any of the organized crime syndicates.

Beer was provided by David, and Nate bought Bahn Mi.

Ok this is going to be pretty rough...

The party went to the Swordsmans Club to see what could be found out there about Bladelaw. The group didn't find out too much from the man working there directly, but did have time to engage in some short sparring with the man there who was attempting to sell sword lessons. Laucian seemed particularly happy with his performance "in the ring."

Aaron meanwhile talked with a man sitting at the bar area who surprisingly had a message for him. Intrigued Aaron went to a private room in back with the man and talked to him. The message was in the form of a letter, a brooch, and the offered help of the man who delivered the message. The message was surprisingly enough from Alexander Poe, a man Aaron met and briefly did some business for in Jarrowby. The letter indicated that the man was well aware of the groups exploits, including their trip to The Shores. The brooch evidentially will protect the wearer and anything within a 20 foot radius of it from scrying. The message also offered Aaron, and the party by extension, employment with Poe, and the rather disturbing revelation that Poe was not the only one interested in and watching the party's exploits, and that these other parties may wish harm upon the group. The man who delivered the message, appears to be rather well connected and extremely good at gathering information. He was able to give Aaron quite a bit of interesting information about Syriam and the goings on there, including the revelation that the members of In His Shadow, were not in fact followers of Omil but rather rivals. They are apparently cultists who worship Enroch, and are just as if not more interested in getting access to Omil's library as the party is, and are planning to make their move when Thune shows up. This could certainly complicate the party's plans! Aaron then agreed to talk to the man again soon, and went back to talk to the party about what he had learned.

There was also some other information but I don't have my notes in front of me at work right now...
